| Friday 24th, we in HIM1 completed our current module, Running a business/New business. At the presentation of our businessplans at the bank, success was a fact! |
|
During february, we have all been given the task of thinking of a brand new business idea and create business plans and budgets for the fictivious implementation of those. These were today presented to a committee of professional investors at the Föreningssparbanken bank office in Karlskrona for review.
Two out of the five plans presented were immediately approved for funding, a rare occurrence indeed, and the other three were regarded as very promising but usually suffered only a few minor budget mishaps. All in all, the verdict from the investors was that all our presentations were considered as being better than the general professional presentations that they usually see.
Everyone in the class was happy and relieved, and the afternoon was filled with back-slapping and high-fives. "The whole process has been very rewarding, and today we all crossed over the finish line holding hands!" Fredrik Hugosson says. Magnus Altefur commented, "We've all had days that has felt great as well as terrible. But today everything clicked, we were well prepared and worked as true teams".
The class projects:
Entertrainment
The business idea was to develop an entertainment system to go with fitness and gym equipment. This system consisting of a small computer and touchscreen monitor would provide the training consumer a variety of entertainments such as gaming with the equipment functioning as the controller, movies, music, surfing and a personalized trainer software.
Team: Niklas Weidel, Jesper Gunnarsson, Cathy Johansson, André Nyström and Johanna Vogelius.
Funding approved!
Afya
Afya's business idea was to provide companies with fully featured vitamin stands in their offices. This way all the employees can receive daily doses of selected vitamins, minerals, energy boosters and alike free of charge as part of the business health plan.
Team: Mathias Roos, Anna Hobro, Lisa Andersson, Anders Larsson and Morgan Andersson.
Funding approved!
Todeloo.com
Todeloo's (to the loo!) plan was to create a web- and wapsite where all publically available toilets would be searchable and easily found. If you ever find yourself in a new city, with a bodily need urging attention, all you'd have to do is send an sms, costing a small fee, (or surf their web or wapsite) to Todeloo and you would automatically receive instructions on where the nearest facility is located.
Team: Jonas Johansson, Jonas Berglund, Calle Magnusson, Sofie Andersson and Susanne Abramsson.
Wireless Office Solutions
The idea behin WOS is to make use of modern information technology to help companies with all their information needs, such as booking meetings, tracking sales and keeping track of emails, accounting, contacts, shedules and alike. All of these, centralized, and with an automatic synchronization function for the employees cellphone.
Team: Therese Hogblad, Magnus Altefur, Christian Nordenborg and Fredric Öslöf.
Stadswappen
Stadswappen would provide everyone with information regarding everything fun that happens in the cities of choice. All current events and entertainment, as well as tourist information, for free straight into your cellphone!
Team: Fredrik Hugosson, Sandra Nilsson, Andreas Christenson and Sarah Ejermark. |
