Internship update: Carat

Our first internship update comes from Niklas Weidel, situated at the media agency firm Carat in Stockholm.
One month has passed since the start of the internship period for HIM1. Niklas is quite happy about his first month at Carat. "It is a brand new business for me, the whole media consulting thing, and very rewarding. I get to learn plenty of new buzzwords too!"

Responsibility has not been lacking either, as he was assigned to deliver a important job for a huge international client on the second week of his assignment. "I guess that shows how much trust they put into me, but I was insanely nervous, which triggered me even more. The end result was good, and everyone was pleased, so I slept very soundly the following night."

His assignment at Carat is in their Interactive department, and the work ranges from planning whole online campaigns, calculating the success of these, researching websites and new markets, to keeping up to date with new trends and technologies.

"It suits me well, being the techie and netgeek at heart that I am. Maybe there's some slight overuse of Excel, but the work in spirit is very creative and everchanging which makes it quite inspirational."

Being in the midst of Stockholms media industri also seems to have its perks, as reports of frequent mingle parties, lunches, dinners and conventions lays the ground for a whole new range of contacts. "It's all good!" he says.
